SALT THERAPY GALWAY
AT THE SALT INHALATION CLINIC ATHENRY

In the past 10 years, an ancient therapy which has been applied for decades in Eastern European countries has evolved into a modern alternative medication free treatment of the airways. The inhalation of dry salt aerosol has been providing beneficial effects to large numbers of people suffering from respiratory discomforts already for decades. As a result of this, a wide variety of inhalation applications based on salt aerosol have been offered for both prophylactic and curative purposes.

Slowly but surely, this medication-free therapy is gaining more acceptance among physicians who see and hear about the benefits of which this side effect free therapy can provide. Dry Salt  Aerosol climates as a preventative means to clean airways.

In December 2010 we opened the 1st Salt Clinic in the West of Ireland. The Salt Inhalation Clinic is NOT the same as Salt Caves / Salt Spas that you may have seen advertised in hotels & wellness centres in various cities in Ireland today. Our salt-acclimatised room is a clean relaxation room where constant fresh, dried air is suppiled, saturated with a pre-defined and controllable amount of high quality dry salt aerosol.

Our supplier intensively collaborates with the University Clinic of Tuebingen Germany, where scientific research has been preformed since December 2009 with various types of patients, among which are people suffering from cystic fibrosis. In Germany & Austria, lung clinics, therapeutic centres and even hospitals have started to embrace this therapy as a valid means to support the health of vast groups of people, suffering ( temporarily ) from a respiratory discomfort.

The three most important mechanisms of action of Salt Inhalation Therapy are fluidisation of muscus, killing of micro-organisms and increased activity of epithelia.
